For many hunters, turkey season is starting to wind down. The big crowds have left the woods, leaving the gobblers for the remaining diehards. For these hunters that have yet to get their two birds, the season is just now heating up.

The Cold is Finally Over

The prolonged cold that was experienced by Florida's panhandle this year really affected the turkeys. They didn't do much gobbling during the first part of the season, but now seem to be in full swing. Many of the hens have been bred, but the gobblers are still on the prowl. This is when they're the most vulnerable, if the correct tactics are used. They've also been hunted for several weeks straight, so hunters will have to be a little more cunning in order to be successful.
