Unemployed older workers and seniors in retirement that are looking to find work may be able to use the Senior Environmental Employment Program to link up with the EPA. What is the SEE program and how does it work?
What is the Senior Environmental Employment Program?
This program is targeted at older workers (55+) and the retired. Its aim is to help people to share their experience and expertise with the EPA and related agencies by working on a variety of environmental programs. Those individuals that are accepted on to the program get to keep their skills active and may be given additional training as necessary. They are also given paid employment and the chance to make a contribution to improving the environment.
Who Can Apply for a Job With the SEE Program?
The main requirements of this program are that applicants must be aged over 55 and must have the necessary skills and experience to take on a particular assignment/job. Some positions will need a medical monitoring exam to check that the individual is qualified to take on a specific role.
