Whether it's a desire to hone one's writing skills, to finish a manuscript, or to earn a degree with the hopes of teaching, individuals attending one of the top ten low-residency MFA programs can enjoy superior education without having to relocate to an area near the university's campus. Although most programs require an undergraduate degree for admissions, some will waive the requirement if the applicant can demonstrate writing experience and skill. All programs require letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to the writing skill and work ethic required to be successful in a low-residency program.
